In May 2023 Morgan and I celebrated 13 years of marriage. We have a special love of the dark, twisty, and unorthodox side of life. We decided to recognize this particular milestone with a Halloween and horror themed vow renewal ceremony. Celebrating our family, together with our two children, was so unbelievably special and fun. We debated having a Halloween wedding back in 2010, but opted against it because we love the holiday so much. We didn’t want our anniversary to always get forgotten in our Halloween celebrations.
So this year, on Friday the 13th, we did it.

The decor and the details were half the fun! We also did a lot of little nods to our wedding, including using the same poem on the front of the program. We had a (vaguely) wine and chocolate themed OG wedding, and we had made custom DIY wine bottles to decorate each table. We made some more for this event!
Finally, we told our friends and family “costumes encouraged.” They understood the assignment.
